ABOUT

At a big agency, most of what you’re billed never reaches the work. It pays for the people sitting between you and the work: the support staff, the status meetings, the office. You can see it on the invoice, and you can see it in how long anything takes to change.
We built this the other way round. Senior people do the job. When something needs a specialist we don’t have, we hire one and manage them ourselves. You’re never paying for a floor of staff you’ll never meet.
We don’t guess what your customers care about. We go and find out, and everything we make comes from that. When something isn’t working, we say so and we change it.
25 years of doing this, most of it in rooms that got slower the bigger they got.
WHY PORTAGE

Dan has spent 25 years in advertising and marketing, most of it making work for companies like Mercedes-Benz, Kellogg’s and TD Bank. The bigger the room got, the slower the work got. Portage is what he built instead.
His portfolio is at danwestgate.com. He also designs presentation decks at danwestgate.com/decks, and he wrote a book about running creative teams, Unlearning Genius, at unlearninggenius.com.
